Hard-to-recycle waste, recycled

We recycle what the blue bin won't take.

Bottle caps, batteries, coffee capsules, worn-out shoes. Curbside programs turn them away. We sort them, bale them and sell them back to manufacturers as raw material.

The problem

9%of the world's plastic waste gets recycled.

Most of the rest could be. It gets buried because sorting it costs more than the material sells for. Curbside programs take what pays its own way: aluminum cans, cardboard, clear bottles. We build a paid route for everything else.

  • Recycled 9%
  • Incinerated 19%
  • Landfilled 50%
  • Mismanaged 22%

    How it works

From your dock to a factory's hopper

    1. The recycling symbol on the side of a blue bin 01

      Collect

Fill a prepaid box, a drop-off bin in your store or a gaylord on your dock.

    2. A yellow tipper truck unloading mixed material inside a covered facility 02

      Ship or schedule

Hand the box to the carrier or book a truck. Every load is weighed when it arrives.

    3. Compressed bales of mixed plastic packaging 03

      Sort and bale

We sort by material and press it into bales of about half a ton each.

    4. Close-up of teal plastic pellets 04

      Back into material

Bales are shredded, washed and pelletized, then sold to manufacturers. You get a certificate with the weight recycled.

    Facilities

Four plants, one chain of custody

Your material stays in our buildings from the scale at the door to the truck that takes the pellets out.

    Weighed in, weighed out

Each load gets a scale ticket on arrival. Your report shows pounds received and pounds recycled.

    Buyers audited every year

We visit the manufacturers who buy our bales and pellets and check where the material goes.

    Nothing exported unprocessed

Material leaves our plants as sorted bales or finished pellets, never as mixed waste.
